Conclusion This was a great walk again!  Rather short, but very interesting and often a magnificent landscape! The walking in dry river beds I found easy in the beginning, but later it became more and more difficult as the pebbles became ever larger. However the views made up for the difficulties, especially once we got a first glimpse of the Sierra Nevada and then had it within view every day. A lot of walking “on the top of the world” such that we did not “lose” the height which we had painfully gained – painfully for me at least, but doable. Especially the long stage from La Peza to Quentar – it was hard but, since I managed to do it, a wonderful morale booster! The 200 km given in guidebooks and indicated in my introduction I have adjusted for the effort to just over 230 km. The weather was beautifully sunny, always with at least a slight breeze - it was really hot on one day only making me use in hands-free mode the magic umbrella; the rest of the days I put it up occasion

Day 11          Quentar  -  Granada          Monday  06/05/2019 17.5 km         Height difference 250 m = + 2.5 km effort = total 20 km 5.15 hours of which 2 real pauses, 25 and 20 min, + 2 sitdowns of about 5 min each WE MADE IT! Another glorious day! Out at 6.30 am to take advantage of the cool morning and to have a maximum of time for sightseeing in Granada. We arrived in our hotel in the center of Granada at 11.45 am. After 2.5 km easy walking above the small river Aguas Blancas the camino ascends 200 m up a ridge over a stretch of 1.5 km. At almost the top pause for breakfast with a view - the sun has come up by now. Over the last two or three days the landscape has become greener and greener. Forgotten the barrenness around Almeria and the following stages. Trees everywhere, Olives, Apricotes, an occasional cherry tree. Once we are on top of the ridge the track goes down and up and down again - small dips in quick succession until the downhill of the dips becomes more

Day 10         La Peza  -  Quentar          Sunday  05/05/2019 28 km          Height difference 600 m (up only) = 6 km effort = total  34 km                      ( seeing that we went down, often steeply, 800 m, which was a great                        effort, I am still wondering how one calculates this particular effort -                       have asked the question before on one of my blogs without getting any                        answer) 9.15 hours of which pauses of 20, 45, 10, and 10 minutes What a day this has been! We leave at the crack of dawn (see photo), steeply out of the town and then steadily up on a dirt track until we reach the top and the sun comes over the opposite top! On a wide winding track we go down for a long time until we come to a road without any traffic - this is early sunday mornig.  But instead of going on the road for a long time (according to Andrea’s gps track) we go in the bed of a stream along the road - there is a stream in February/Marc
